Artist Biography: Painter of genre scenes, portraits and flowers.

Pierre Joseph Mousset was a pupil of Jean-Marie Villard.

He made his Salon debut in Paris in 1880.

Two labels on the back: "Exposition à Eau".

Provenance: Collection Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880), the world-famous German-born French composer, cellist and impresario of the Romantic period.
