Painter of landscapes and animals.

César De Cock was the brother of Xavier De Cock. He was a pupil at the Academy of his birthplace and of Félix De Vigne. He received advice from Corot in Paris and worked with him and Diaz, Rousseau, Troyon and Daubigny at Barbizon, later at Gasny (Eure).

De Cock’s art is related to the art of painters of the Fontainebleau School. In 1856 he participated at the Triennal Exhibition. Some of his work was also shown at the Exhibition of Belgian Art in Brussels in 1905.
