Painter of genre scenes; draughtsman and painter of gouaches.

Oscar Rex was born on March 26, 1857 in Prague.

He studied in Munich and Paris, where he was a student of Julius de Benczur, Jules Lefebvre and Michel Munkacsy.

He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris and was awarded a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900.
