Lady painter of landscapes, flowers, portraits and town views; watercolourist.

Ketty Gilsoul-Hoppe was a pupil of her father, the medal engraver Edouard Hoppe, Hendrickx and Tourteau. She attended the Brussels Technical School and Portaels’ studio. She married the painter Victor Gilsoul. She exhibited in Brusssels, Ghent, Antwerp and Düsseldorf.

Ketty Gilsoul-Hoppe was one of those artists mainly concerned with colour and strenght; she possessed a very firm brushstroke. In addition, her art, which was far from commonplace, was essentially typical and well balanced.
