Joannes Christoffel Vaarberg was born in Weesp on December 8, 1825 and deceased in Amsterdam on May 11, 1871. He lived and worked in Amsterdam from 1848 on. He was a pupil of the Amsterdam Academy of Fine Arts. Later on he taught Johannes Frederik Hulk Jr.
