Watercolourist, draughtsman, illustrator, author and comic book artist.

Georges Winterbeek was a pupil of Massonet. From 1962 on, he wrote scenario’s for the Radio Télévision Belge française. He was inspired by small parts of cities like Brussels, Venice and Paris, village views and monumental buildings.

Winterbeek had a spontaneous and sure style and drawing. The subject is often schematicly drawn with a pen before being heightened with watercolour.

In the press: “Southern Italy inspires him to create oil paintings with vivid colours, but  almost monk-like drawing.” (Anita Nardon)
