A member of the Salon des Artistes Français from 1906, François Emile Decorchemont took part in the society’s exhibitions. With his father, Louis Emile Decorchemont, he had learned the techniques of working in molten glass, an art form that they sought to revive.

Decorchemont produced very fine works, whether in glass, ceramic or metal, as well as a number of paintings. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon d’Automne and he was on the committee of the Salon des artistes Décorateurs.

He exhibited in many major cities.
