Paul Wilhelm Keller-Reutlingen was a student of the Fine Arts Academies in Stuttgart and Munich. He exhibited from 1879 in Vienna, Munich (where he received a medal in 1892), Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and Berlin.

His landscapes often include figures – farmers at work, people tending animals, children playing and loving couples – and are sensitive to changes of light according to the hours of the day and the seasons of the year.
