Painter of animated landscapes; watercolourist, painter of pastels, engraver and illustrator.

Edmond Yon was a pupil of Pouget and Lequien. From 1865 on, he exhibited at the Paris Salon and, later on, at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he was awarded several medals. He also won a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1889. In 1886, he was appointed Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur. From 1865 on, he executed paintings and watercolours of French landscapes. He contributed to a number of illustrated journals including “Magasin pittoresque”, “Le Monde illustré” and “l’Art”.
