Painter of seascapes, rivers, figures and landscapes.

Henri Arden was of English descent. He was born in Antwerp in 1858 and died in Brusels in 1917.

He studied at the Antwerp Academy and worked on the Belgian and French coasts, as well as along the banks of the Scheldt.

Arden is highly ranked among the Belgian seascape painters.

His supple and bold technique lend a special charm to his works, which are both composite and picturesque, and which are at the same time marked by great variety.

Henri Arden exhibited his works at the Paris Salon on many occasions.
