François Destappe studied under Noël, Victor Dupré and Beir. He first exhibited at the Salon in 1868 with “At Sea, Morning”. Beraldi makes reference to his “Book of Six Seascapes”.
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London conserves his “Fishermen’s Huts by the Sea”.
