Emile Hendrik Karel Passchaal Godding was a pupil of the Academy of Fine Arts of his birth-place and at the painter Bruno Van Hollebeke’s workshop.

He settled in Antwerp in 1874 and exhibited in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Munich, Philadelphia and Melbourne.

He has left very refined paintings which reveal unusual talent.
