Painter of seascapes and landscapes.
At the age of forty, Victor de Papeleu devoted himself entirely to painting. He was self-taught and worked in the forest at Fontainebleau, later linking up with the Barbizon painters.
Victor de Papeleu exhibited with success in Paris and in Belgium. He then settled in Saint-Raphael in the Var region where he produced numerous high quality works.
