Charles Venneman was a pupil of Ferdinand De Braekeleer the Elder. He began his artistic career in 1837. He enjoyed a very good reputation during his lifetime.
Venneman successfully exhibited in Ghent, Antwerp and Brussels. He took part at the Exposition Nationale in Brussels in 1842. His son Camille was also a talented painter.
