Adolphe Demange was a pupil of the painter of pastels Charles Louis Gratia in Nancy.
Demange’s portraits retain a certain classical sublimity with the objects and the still lifes in the middle ground attracting most attention.
Adolphe Demange exhibited from 1896 till 1926 at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became a member in 1901.
