Painter of nudes, portraits, landscapes, flowers, vanitas and animated interiors; draughtsman and painter of pastels.

René Louis Marie Choprix was a pupil at the Academy of Brussels from 1902 until 1907, with teachers such as Mommens, Richir, Van Strydonck, Delville, Fabry and Montald. Foujita was a great source of inspiration from 1927 till 1929.

During the Interbellum Choprix inserted more optimistic colors in his work, reminding us of Art Deco, especially in his depictions of nudes in exotic surroundings. After World War II he turned towards idealized and allegorical dreamlike landscapes.
