Painter of figures, portraits, nudes and still lifes; pastellist and etcher.

Jean Colin studied at the Brussels Academy under Isidore Verheyden. He won the Prix de Rome in 1910, visited Algeria and completed his training in Rome.

Colin painted in an impressionist-realist style.  A perfect mastery of colors and a powerful brush stroke are typical for this painter.
