Juan Cardona-Llados studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Lonja in Barcelona. He continued his studies in Paris with Cappiello, Sem, Steinlen and Roubille. He was intensely active as an illustrator, working on Catalan magazines, such as “El Gato Negro-Hispania”, and on French and German magazines, such as “Le Rire” (“The Laugh”) and “Jugend-Simplicissimus”.
In Paris he exhibited at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts from 1912 onwards. He was also a member of the Salon d’Automne.
