Painter of animals with a preference for cattle.

Johannes Cornelius (‘Jan’) Neervoort was born in Den Bosch on December 22, 1863 and also died there in 1940.

He worked in a very realist style.

He lived and worked in Den Bosch and later on in The Hague. Around 1888 he left for the Brabant region.

He exhibited in Amsterdam in 1888.

This particular painting was exhibited in 1893 at the Exposition Générale des Beaux-Arts.
