Valéry Vander Poorten had a preference for genre scenes, town views and landscapes.
He was active in Laeken (Brussels) where he was a member of the Cercle artistique, with which he exhibited in Laeken in 1912 at the “Premier Salon de Noël”. He also exhibited with the Brussels Cercle Artistique et Littéraire in 1931.
