Adolphe Gustave Binet was a pupil of Jean-Léon Gérôme. He was the brother of Victor Binet.
He exhibited in Berlin, Dresden and Paris.
The Musée d’Orsay in Paris has his “Marins”, signed and dated ‘1897’, in its collection.
The painting on exhibition has an inscription on the back: ‘Adolphe Binet – Les Lads – Routot (Eure)’.
