Painter of (urban) landscapes; painter of pastels, watercolourist and engraver.

Alfred Alexandre Delaunay exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon and was awarded medals in 1870 and 1872.

He was known particularly for his 304 engravings of ornaments and of views of Paris and its surrounding area. He published a number of plates under the title “Le vieux Paris” (“Old Paris”), and, between 1870 and 1878, several prints of “Paris pittoresque” (“Picturesque Paris”).

He also published a set of etchings of French cathedrals.
