Arthur Johnson studied in Germany, where his parents settled. He was active in Berlin. He made his debut in 1898 at the Grosse Kunstausstellung in Berlin with a study for a portrait of the poet Peter Hille. He also exhibited paintings and drawings there in 1900, 1904, 1914 and 1924. His caricatures appeared in “Kladderadatsch”, to which he was a regular contributor.
