Painter of genre scenes and landscapes; watercolourist.
Charles Vacher studied at the Royal Academy. He became a member of, and exhibited at, the Watercolour Society. He also exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1838 to 1881.
Vacher brought back sketches made during a visit to Italy, Sicily, Algeria, Egypt and the Near East in 1839, but his favourite subject matter was everyday scenes from Italian life.
