Frédéric Pierre Tschaggeny was the son and pupil of Charles Tschaggeny. He received his further education in the studio of Jean François Portaels. He made his debut in 1872 in London.
Tschaggeny painted the portraits of Princess Stéphanie of Belgium (1880), Prince Victor Napoleon and many personalities from the political world and the nobility. He was also the author of some religious works and a gifted musician, more specifically a cellist.
