Lady painter of landscapes, flowers, portraits and town views; watercolourist.

Ketty Gilsoul-Hoppe was a pupil of her father, the medal engraver Edouard Hoppe, Hendrickx and Tourteau. She attended the Brussels Technical School and Jean-François Portaels’ studio. She married the painter Victor Gilsoul. She exhibited in Brusssels, Ghent, Antwerp and Düsseldorf.

Ketty Gilsoul-Hoppe was one of those artists mainly concerned with colour and strenght; she possessed a very firm brushstroke. In addition, her art, which was far from commonplace, was essentially typical and well balanced.
