Painter of interiors and genre scenes.

Having attended lectures at the Mechlin School of Art, Florent Willems began his artistic career in 1840, then left to settle in Paris (1844).

He was inspired by the technique of the Dutch Masters Terburg, Metsu and Mieris and came under the influence of Alfred Stevens.

Willems exhibited at the Exhibition of Belgian Art in Brussels in 1880 and 1905.
