Painter of landscapes with cattle, poultry and stables; aquafortist and lithographer.
Albertus Verhoesen was a pupil of Bruno van Straaten, Jan van Ravenzwaay and Pieter Gerardus van Os; he lived with Barend Cornelis Koekkoek for a while. He taught Dirk van Lokhorst and his son Johannes Marinus Verhoesen.
He worked in Utrecht, Hilversum (1824-1826) and again in Utrecht. From 1834 till 1853, he lived in Amersfoort where he was appointed city draughtsman; in 1853, he returned to Utrecht.
