Lady painter of landscapes and animals (dogs and cats).

Henriette Ronner was the daughter and pupil of Josephus Augustus Knip. In 1836, when only aged fifteen, she exhibited her work in Düsseldorf and sold her first painting. In 1850 she married and moved to Brussels.

Henriette Ronner specialised in painting cats and dogs. Her tender, humorous and stylish interpretations earned her a universal reknown.
