Paul Lecomte was a pupil of Emile Lambinet. He first exhibited at the Salon de Paris in 1880. He won an honourable mention in 1882, a third class medal in 1888 and a second class medal in 1895. He also received an honourable mention at the 1889 Exposition Universelle and a silver medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
