ARNEGGER Aloïs

VIEW OF NAPLES

Oil on canvas: 90 x 125 cm / 35.4 x 49.2 ins

Painter of portraits and landscapes.

Alois Arnegger studied at the Vienna Fine Arts Academy under Russ and Eisenmenger.

He was principally a painter of rural landscapes, using a pre-Impressionist technique that reflected the romanticism of the Barbizon School and showing sensitivity to climatic and seasonal variations.

The titles of his paintings indicate that he was active in Mediterranean countries, particularly Italy.
