Charles Van Den Eycken was a pupil of his father Frans Van Den Eycken, a painter of landscapes, and of Joseph Stevens at the Brussels Academy. From 1881 on he was a regular exhibitor in the Salons in Brussels, Liège, Ghent and Antwerp, as well as in Holland, Germany and Spain.
Van Den Eycken painted several works for Queen Marie-Henriette of Belgium.
Van Den Eycken had a preference for painting dogs and cats. He was a member of the group ‘l’Essor’ and was awarded several medals.
