Painter of seascapes and beach scenes, occasionally enriched with animals.

François Musin was a pupil of François Bossuet. He exhibited in Europe and the United States from 1840 till his death. He achieved great succes during his lifetime and won many awards and honorable mentions, p.e. he was made a Knight in the Order of Leopold.

His son Auguste Musin also became a painter of seascapes.

In 1988, the Ostend Fine Arts Museum dedicated a major exhibition to François Musin, titled: “François Musin, Painter of Seascapes”.
