Painter of portraits; watercolourist, draughtsman and illustrator.

Raphaël Kirchner was a pupil of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna before settling down in Paris. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français. He worked for several Parisian newspapers, especially ‘La Vie Parisienne’ (Paris Life). In August 1914 he moved to the United States where he died in 1917.
